Implementing data protection in accordance with the GDPR and beyond is very important to us in the Eye-Able team. That is why the Eye-Able software does not track any user data. All user settings are stored in the browser's local storage and no cookies are set. No local settings are transferred to the outside world at any time. It is also possible to host all Eye-Able files locally and thus no longer have any outgoing connection to our servers. You can find the instructions for this in this article.

Hosting on your own server or via a plugin

Eye-Able can also be hosted on your own web server without any loss of functionality. This eliminates all external connections to the Eye-Able servers and all files are transferred via your server. All you have to do is upload a directory with Javascript, CSS and images or install the plugin for supported CMS. No server-side calculations are necessary. The only disadvantages are the loss of managed mode, i.e. you have to make changes to the configuration yourself, and the lack of automatic updates. However, if you opt for hosting on your own server, we will regularly send you a current version including an update report. You can find the instructions for this in this article. Plugins have their own update function.

Our server structure

We only use European partners such as bunny.net to provide the software via our server network. We use a Content Delivery Network (CDN) to transfer Eye-Able to the customer in near real time, handle large volumes of data and defend against attacks. However, Eye-Able only uses server centers within the EU for this purpose, so that no personal data is transferred to third countries.When integrating Eye-Able via the Eye-Able server and without reloading on click,please notethat you must inform your users about the external service and obtain the user's consent (e.g. via the cookie banner).

The server logs of our providers contain IP addresses in anonymized form (the last digit is always a 0). We do not have complete IP addresses at any time. An evaluation of the server logs does not take place on the basis of IP addresses, but only counts general access figures and is used to detect unauthorized integrations (based on the domain). We have also concluded order processing contracts with our hosters as an additional security measure. The anonymous server logs are automatically deleted after 3 days. No data is shared with persons outside Web Inclusion GmbH at any time.

We can also offer you to conclude an order processing contract (AVV).

Customized servers are used for our customers outside Europe, for example in the USA or Australia. These servers are customized and are not used by European customers at any time.

The voice output only uses local native voices of the operating system or browser and does not transmit any data to Web Inclusion GmbH servers.

Eye-Able® is a software developed by Web Inclusion GmbH to ensure barrier-reduced access to information on the Internet for all people. The necessary files such as JavaScript, stylesheets and images are loaded from an external server. When functions are activated, Eye-Able uses the browser's local storage to save the settings. All settings are only saved locally and are not transmitted further.

Eye-Able® uses the Content Delivery Network (CDN) of BunnyWay d.o.o. (Cesta komandanta Staneta 4A, 1215 Medvode, Slovenia) to fend off attacks and provide our service in near real time. This is used for the purpose of fulfilling the contract with our customers (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR) and in the interest of a secure, fast and efficient provision of our online offer by a professional provider (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). All transmitted data and servers remain in the EU at all times in order to enable data protection-compliant processing in accordance with the GDPR. Web Inclusion GmbH does not collect or analyze personal user behavior or other personal data at any time.

In order to ensure data protection-compliant processing, Web Inclusion GmbH has concluded data processing agreements with our hosters IONOS and BunnyWay.
