The way Eye-Able® Audit works explained simply

Test your website independently with regard to WCAG conformity. The tool not only shows you which part of a website can be improved, but also how the improvement can be achieved.

The following categories are tested according to the WCAG standard:

Important accessibility criteria are checked, such as: minimum contrasts, missing alternative texts, missing link texts, missing labels, HTML errors, missing markups and much more.

Step 1: Overview of the total number of errors

After you have performed the WCAG scan, you will be shown the number of problems that have occurred on your website in accordance with the WCAG guidelines.

Step 2: Search for individual errors

Let's take the error message "Link has no link text" as an example. This is listed in the "Robust" category. By expanding this tab, it is possible to access this specific error directly on the website.

The error is marked on the website with a red frame.

Step 3: Concrete solution proposal

Our testing software is also a knowledge database. You receive a specific recommendation for action as well as in-depth information on the test step.

No, Audit is a browser extension that is installed locally on the computer. It can therefore only be used on the device on which it was installed.

Yes, you can use the "Scan your entire area" button to export a report as an Excel, CSV or PDF file.

You can currently install the BITV/WCAG checker in Chrome. In the near future, the checking software will also be available for Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge.

How do I proceed after I have analyzed the errors?

Many errors can be rectified directly in the backend/CMS without any technical background knowledge, while other errors may require more in-depth knowledge and access to the source code of the page.
